I recently signed up for a Target REDcard and am excited for the perks! Normally I don't sign up for store cards, as usually they are credit cards and require a credit check, which can affect your credit score. Target's REDcard is available as either a credit or debit card. I signed up for the debit card. It took less than 5 minutes at the customer service desk to get me set up! It's linked to my checking account. I just needed to provide a blank check and personal information.
